Enugu Governor’s Market Liaison SSA, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mba, Visits Orie Orba and Obollo Afor Markets to Strengthen Trade Stability



In a bid to foster peace, stability, and prosperity in Enugu State’s markets, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Market Liaison, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mba, embarked on a scheduled visit to Orie Orba and Obollo Afor markets in Udenu Local Government Area.

The visit aimed at engaging traders, market leaders, and community stakeholders to identify challenges and explore areas for government intervention. It commenced with a courtesy call on Hon. Akachukwu Eze Akachukwu, Chairman of Udenu LGA, who warmly welcomed the delegation. The Chairman pledged his full support and delegated his Vice, Hon. Mrs. Onyinyechi Odo, to accompany the SSA on the tour.

During a crucial interactive session with ndi Oha Obollo, the community’s apex body of titled men, appreciation was expressed for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mba’s developmental strides, particularly in the areas of education and infrastructure. They reaffirmed their unwavering support for the governor and conveyed greetings from Esha, the eldest man in Obollo, and the entire Oha Obollo.

At Afor Obollo Market, Hon. Dr. Mba held discussions with market leaders, who commended Governor Mba’s vision of increasing Enugu’s GDP from $4.4 billion to $30 billion. They pledged their support for the administration’s economic policies, recognizing the governor’s commitment to transforming the state’s trade sector.

A similar session at Orie Orba Market saw the Caretaker Committee and the dissolved executive members deliberate on pressing issues affecting market stability. Their discussions addressed critical concerns, with a focus on ensuring a more harmonious trading environment.

Concluding the visit, Hon. Dr. Mba paid homage to the Traditional Ruler of Orba Community, His Royal Highness, Igwe Onugwu Eze Nwoye, who lauded the governor’s developmental initiatives in the community. In response, the SSA assured the royal father of the governor’s unwavering dedication to the strategic advancement of all sectors across Enugu State.

This visit underscores the administration’s proactive approach to fostering a progressive and prosperous trading climate across the state.

Shettima, 13 Governors Pay New Year Homage to Tinubu in Lagos

Vice-President Kashim Shettima and 13 state governors paid a New Year homage to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Wednesday. The president is currently in Lagos for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.   The House of Representatives member representing the people of Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Oriyomi Adewunmi Onanuga, aka Ijaya, is reportedly dead. According to Gistcore, Onanuga, the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, died after a brief illness. Meanwhile, the sad news is yet to be made official to the public either by NASS or the family. Born on December 2, 1965, Onanuga was a politician and entrepreneur.
