The Jigawa State Judicial Service Commission has taken significant disciplinary actions against several judicial officers in the state. The commission dismissed three individuals, including two registrars, Iyal Ibrahim and Baffa Alhaji, for illegally selling court exhibits, and a Chief Clerical Officer, Abdu Aujara, for suppressing a litigant’s deposit.

Additionally, the commission advised three Shari’a Court judges to resign due to abuse of power, misapplication of the law, and mishandling of inheritance cases. Two magistrates, Munnir Abdullahi and Yakubu Ibrahim, were also reprimanded for misconduct, including improper handling of cases and using derogatory language towards a litigant.

These disciplinary actions followed the commission's 178th meeting held on January 7, 2025, during which reports from investigation committees were reviewed. The dismissed officers' actions were deemed violations of judicial procedures, and their appointments were terminated in accordance with relevant state laws.
