A female banker, identified as Ifeoma, was tragically murdered by suspected kidnappers in Anambra State despite her family paying a ransom for her release.
Ifeoma was abducted in Onitsha and held captive for several days. Her captors contacted her family, demanding a ransom, which was reportedly paid. However, despite the payment, Ifeoma was not released.
Her body was discovered near Ideani Junction along the Nnobi-Alor Road in Idemili South Local Government Area. Sources suggest that the kidnappers might have killed her to prevent identification, suspecting she recognized them.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the discovery of the body and assured that investigations are ongoing. The police are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding her death and have urged victims to come forward to assist with ongoing investigations.
The police also emphasized their commitment to improving security and working with the public to combat criminal activities in the state.
