CEO Balija Eye Care Foundation Felicitates Enugu Commissioner, Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih As She Marks Her Birth Anniversary

 


In a touching tribute to commemorate her birth anniversary, the CEO of Balija Eye Care Foundation, Dr. Jude Ilodibe Onoja, alongside the foundation’s staff and management, celebrated Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih, Enugu State’s Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development. Dr. Ilodibe highlighted Mrs. Enih’s commitment to public service, commending her compassion and steadfast dedication to enhancing the lives of women, children, and vulnerable groups throughout the state. Reflecting on their collaborative initiatives, he emphasized the remarkable impact of her leadership in driving change within Enugu’s social development sector.


Dr. Ilodibe shared his experiences working with Mrs. Enih, particularly on the “Sight is Life” program, which brought critical healthcare access to underserved communities. "It has been an honor to work alongside someone so deeply committed to the welfare of her people," he stated, underscoring her inspiring dedication. He added that her approach to public service exemplifies empathy and purpose, elevating standards for impactful governance and providing a beacon of hope to the communities she serves.


As the Enugu State Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, Mrs. Enih has led efforts to address domestic violence, support youth empowerment, and create opportunities for women through scholarships and vocational training. Her leadership has fostered positive change and peace within communities, cementing her role as a transformational figure in the state. Recognized for her compassion and forward-thinking approach, Mrs. Enih has dedicated her work to building a society where the vulnerable can thrive with dignity.


In August 2024, Mrs. Enih partnered with Balija Eye Care Foundation on the "Sight is Life for Enugu Women" project, a two-day outreach that provided free eye screenings, glasses, and surgeries to over 1,300 women. Working closely with Dr. Ilodibe and Hon. Arinze Emmanuel Eze, she helped ensure the success of this healthcare initiative, which was widely praised for its lasting impact on women’s health in Enugu. Today’s tribute from Balija Eye Care Foundation honors Mrs. Enih as a paragon of compassionate leadership and celebrates her invaluable contributions to a more inclusive, supportive Enugu State.

Shettima, 13 Governors Pay New Year Homage to Tinubu in Lagos

Vice-President Kashim Shettima and 13 state governors paid a New Year homage to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Wednesday. The president is currently in Lagos for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.   The House of Representatives member representing the people of Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Oriyomi Adewunmi Onanuga, aka Ijaya, is reportedly dead. According to Gistcore, Onanuga, the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, died after a brief illness. Meanwhile, the sad news is yet to be made official to the public either by NASS or the family. Born on December 2, 1965, Onanuga was a politician and entrepreneur. She had been the Deputy Chief Whip of the Nigerian House of Representatives since 2023. She was born in Hammersmith, London to Nigerian parents. In 2019, Onanuga contested election for Member, House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and won.
