STATE OF THE NATION: Nkanu Youths Hold National Stakeholders Meeting in Enugu, Releases Communique
In a communique issued after a well-attended stakeholders meeting of the Nkanu Youths Organization (NYO) held at Top Rank Hotels on July 26, 2024, the executives and stakeholders conducted an in-depth analysis of the national and state economies.
They reached several critical agreements, emphasizing the need for unity among executives to overcome disunity obstacles, urging federal and state governments to urgently address hunger by making food affordable, and calling on Nkanu entrepreneurs to partner with NYO.
They sought state government assistance to empower Nkanu youth, encouraged community youth leaders to register with NYO, stressed the importance of ensuring smooth local government elections, called on the governor to involve more Nkanu youth in governance through open-door policies, and highlighted the need for cultural integration and historical revisitation with Isiuzo brothers.
Communique reads;
Being a communique issued after a stakeholders meeting of the Nkanu Youths stakeholders held at Top Rank hotels on the 26th of July, 2024.
Arising from the very attended stakeholders meeting, having taken a careful understudy of the state of the nation and the economy of the state, the Excos and stakeholders of the NYO has agreed thus;
1. That there is need for the executives to be very United to surmount obstacles brought about by disunity.
2. that the Federal and state governments should as a matter of urgency prioritize the welfare of Nigerians by making food affordable as hunger is almost ravaging the nation
3. That we are calling on every well meaning son and great entrepreneurs of Nkanu land to look towards the direction of the NYO for partnership
4. That the NYO earnestly seeks for assistance from the state government to empower young persons from Nkanu Land
5. That all the community youth leaders of Nkanu extraction are advised to identify with the umbrella youth body of Nkanu land by coming out to register with NYO.
6. that all NYO excos and stakeholders should put hands together to ensure a hitch free LGA elections of NYO.
7. that the NYO is calling on the state governor to have a policy redesign to accommodate more young persons especially of Nkanu extraction in government. The governor is also called upon to start running an open door administration.
8. that there’s a need for cultural integration and history revisitation so as to bond well with our brothers from Isiuzo.
