Nkanu East Local Government Area in Enugu State has extended warm congratulations to Dame Rita Mbah on her recent appointment to the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Recall that The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of Dame Rita Mbah from Enugu State as the youngest member of the Adolphus Wabara-led Board of Trustees (BOT). The inauguration ceremony, held at the prestigious Wadata Plaza in the Federal Capital Territory, stands as a historic milestone for the party, heralding a new era of inclusivity and progressive governance.

Dame Rita Mbah's ascension to this pivotal role is underpinned by her extensive experience and unwavering dedication to public service. With a distinguished career spanning various spheres of governance, including two tenures as Commissioner in Enugu State, she has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of her home state. Currently serving as the Executive Chairman of the Enugu State Tourism Board, Dame Rita Mbah continues to champion the promotion of her state's rich heritage on the national stage.

Her political journey, marked by steadfast commitment and exemplary service, commenced as a Special Adviser to former Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State on Intergovernmental Affairs. Subsequently, she held key positions within the administration, including Commissioner for Special Duties, where her performance garnered recognition and commendation. Reappointed by the former Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for her outstanding contributions, Dame Rita Mbah's trajectory within the political landscape of Enugu State reflects her unwavering dedication to public service.

Shettima, 13 Governors Pay New Year Homage to Tinubu in Lagos

Vice-President Kashim Shettima and 13 state governors paid a New Year homage to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Wednesday. The president is currently in Lagos for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.   The House of Representatives member representing the people of Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Oriyomi Adewunmi Onanuga, aka Ijaya, is reportedly dead. According to Gistcore, Onanuga, the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, died after a brief illness. Meanwhile, the sad news is yet to be made official to the public either by NASS or the family. Born on December 2, 1965, Onanuga was a politician and entrepreneur. She had been the Deputy Chief Whip of the Nigerian House of Representatives since 2023. She was born in Hammersmith, London to Nigerian parents. In 2019, Onanuga contested election for Member, House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and won.
