Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme Continues to Impact Lives in Enugu, 84 Years old Peter, 3 Others testify


In a remarkable display of commitment to public health, the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, initiated by former Governor Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, successfully conducted a series of surgeries on January 11, 2024. The program, fueled by Ugwuanyi's unwavering dedication, continues to positively impact the lives of Enugu citizens, even beyond his term in office.

Among those touched by this initiative is 14-year-old Abah Emmanuel from Etteh Igbo-eze North, who underwent corrective surgery for a Left inguinoscrotal hernia with associated Hydrocoele. Emmanuel, now transformed, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the life-changing intervention.

At the age of 85, Ugwuanyi Peter from Edem in Nsukka underwent a successful correction of a Right inguinal hernia, praising the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme for its dedication to enhancing the health of Enugu residents. Blessing Ugwuanyi, a 38-year-old beneficiary, also shared her appreciation after herniorrhaphy for a strangulated Umbilical hernia, emphasizing the program's commitment to saving lives.

Hellen Iyianyi, a 60-year-old from Lejja, Nsukka, received corrective surgery for a complex breast lump, expressing excitement and relief. The Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme continues to address critical health concerns, touching the lives of individuals like Hellen.

Dr. Ajogwu, the Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, extended deep appreciation to former Governor Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his ongoing commitment to healthcare. Highlighting Ugwuanyi's critical role in founding and funding the program, Dr. Ajogwu emphasized its profound impact on the lives of Enugu residents. Shettima, 13 Governors Pay New Year Homage to Tinubu in Lagos

Vice-President Kashim Shettima and 13 state governors paid a New Year homage to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Wednesday. The president is currently in Lagos for the Christmas and New Year celebrations. According to Gistcore, Onanuga, the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, died after a brief illness. Meanwhile, the sad news is yet to be made official to the public either by NASS or the family. Born on December 2, 1965, Onanuga was a politician and entrepreneur.
