The Majority Leader of the Enugu House of Assembly, Hon. Johnson Samuel Ani, has turned words into action by officially commencing the reconstruction of a dilapidated link road at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC). The project, a fulfillment of a campaign promise, was inaugurated on August 22nd, 2023, in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Ezenta Ezeani and Honorable Princess Obiajulu Ugwu, as well as fellow colleagues from the Enugu State House of Assembly.


With years of deterioration, the link road on UNEC's campus had long awaited revitalization. During the inauguration ceremony, the Dean of Students Affairs, Mrs. Eni Udoh, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the essential reconstruction. She credited Hon. Ezenta Ezeani for leading the delegation and hailed the event as a historic achievement, certain to leave a lasting mark on the university's history.


In a press statement, Hon. Johnson Samuel Ani, the Majority Leader, expressed gratitude for the divine guidance that allowed him to successfully complete the project. He emphasized his unwavering commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and acknowledged the invaluable support from Hon. Deputy Speaker and his fellow Honorable Members, who stood beside him during the road's inauguration. Hon. Ani also extended his appreciation to the UNEC management for entrusting him with this crucial responsibility. He reserved special acknowledgment for those who graced the event, particularly his dedicated media team led by Ngene F. C. Obama, for their relentless efforts in conveying his dedication to timely project completion.


The event welcomed a distinguished presence from the Enugu State House of Assembly, including Hon. Aneke Hyacinth Okechukwu representing Udi South Constituency and Hon. Princess Obiajulu Ugwu representing Enugu South 11, among other notable members. The commissioning of this reconstructed road not only symbolizes a campaign promise honored but also showcases the power of collaborative efforts in driving positive change within the community.

Shettima, 13 Governors Pay New Year Homage to Tinubu in Lagos

Vice-President Kashim Shettima and 13 state governors paid a New Year homage to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Wednesday. The president is currently in Lagos for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.   The House of Representatives member representing the people of Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Oriyomi Adewunmi Onanuga, aka Ijaya, is reportedly dead. According to Gistcore, Onanuga, the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, died after a brief illness.
